Dear Hubby and I aren't really into Valentine's Day, we sort of find it a bit cheesy and commercial, besides, everyday is Valentine's Day for us! Heehee!
Anyway, he still asked me if I wanted to eat out, and I told him I would rather prepare our Valentine's Day meal. A lovingly prepared homecooked meal beats out a fancy feast at Le Bernardin in my opinion! A whole lot cheaper too! Mwahaha!
I did my grocery shopping after lunch, so that everything I served for dinner would still be "fresh". Here's what I whipped up for V Day!
Salad: Mix of Romaine & Red Leaf Lettuce with Parmesan & Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
Soup: Lobster Bisque
Entree: Angus Beef Steak
Side Dishes: Baked Potato with Hot Pepper Jack cheese and sour cream, corn & carrots, italian bread roll
Dessert: Chewy Walnut Brownies
Yummy no? Best of all, Dear Hubby loved everything I served! =)
Forgive the table setting, DH likes to eat his soup with his meal, and he doesn't want to be bothered with bread plates (additional dishes to wash...) I know it's not exactly a culinary feat, but considering that I never cooked my whole life prior to going here, it's a pretty big deal don't you think? As my friend Cons would say, "Snaps for Tintin!", hahaha!
