Jonathan Adler x 7 For All Mankind

Here's something interesting! Famed interior decorator Jonathan Adler crosses the border to fashion with a line out for 7 For All Mankind!

His line of men’s and women’s denim & sportswear consists of three different and cheeky themes: Deluxe, Rustic and Pop. Each theme works together to tell the combined story of both 7 For All Mankind and Jonathan Adler.

Check out some of the pieces from his collection!

7 For All Mankind Jonathan Adler Collection Short Sleeve T-Shirt with Acapulco Print Silk Scarf, highwaist straight leg in Clean Beverly Glen denims

There's something for the boys too! Just let me know if you want me to post the photos as well! =)

Tutoring Club

I grew up without tutors but my younger siblings went through school tutored from grade school through high school. I don't know if it's because schoolwork has become more demanding as of late, or maybe because it's the trendy thing to do among kids these days? Hahaha! Well, whatever, if that's the case, then join the club! The Tutoring Club that is!

Founded in the United States in 1991, Tutoring Club is a skills-based tutoring service for students at all levels of academic ability, from elementary through high school that offers personalized programs that help students either “catch up and keep up”, or to gain advantage over other students in their class by learning and retaining critical skills.

Ebony & Ivory

I was also thinking of titling this post "Young & Old" or "New & Vintage" (referring to the sunnies our models are wearing of course - Berry with her Gap shades, and Angkong in vintage YSL), but I don't think Groovy Grandpa will like that. He might think I'm referring to his age, heehee!

Well, regardless of the age gap, these two are getting along pretty well!

Second Wind

It's been so hot these past few days, I haven't been in the mood to dress up. So lazy. I normally just throw on a dress and that's it. Then I remembered I had this pair of paperbag linen shorts with adjustable side ribbons I got from Uniqlo two years ago and voila! Something new to wear!

(Tee: T by Alexander Wang, Shorts: Uniqlo, Sandals: See by Chloe, Bag: Mulberry Alexa)

See how it used to look two years ago, back when I was conservative and baduy and wore it puruntong style! Wahahaha!

I love it when I find old clothes to recycle into something new! So this is what "shopping your closet" feels like! It really pays to buy classics that withstand the test of time. It's just a bonus that Uniqlo is so darn cheap! Loves it!

DwellStudio Play

Because DwellStudio has realized that "parenting is tough enough without having to worry about raising cool kids", they took care of that via an assortment of products that show off playful designs that will definitely delight both children and parents, as you've seen here before!

More than just delightful products like beddings, bathrobes and stylish diaper bags, are also toys that inspire the imagination. Not to mention, super safe because these are made of fabric and foam, so no worries about ouchies during playtime!

Take for instance: Stacking Rings composed of five rings, each of which includes a tactile or aural component! Simple as this looks, it teaches children how to distinguish textures and appreciate patterns:

And yes, this is the sosyal version of the Fisher Price stacking rings we used to play with as kids!

There are also these Soft Blocks with each block representing a color, texture, number, shape, letter and animal! DwellStudio calls this toy "the point where style, education and playfulness intersect"!

Now check out these Mindblocks made up of 3 fitted parts. You can use this as a shape sorter, puzzzle or as building blocks!

It comes in an adorable tote too! As seen on Kelly Rutherford's son:

Berry has this exact same toy, and she enjoys bringing this along when she toddles about the house because of the handy dandy tote!

Here's the good news! We're doing a super fun blog contest with an amazing DwellStudio gift package worth Php10,000 up for grabs! Knowing how adorable and stylish DwellStudio products are, this is so worth joining! Promise!

DwellStudio is exclusively distributed by Quirks Marketing Philippines and is available in Rustan's Makati, Shangri-la & Alabang and online via www.quirksmarketingph.com (free shipping too!). Know more about DwellStudio and visit www.quirksmarketingph.com and www.dwellstudio.com.

Stuck in Time

There are days when I am looking for excitement. I guess that's what happens when you're a stay-at-home mom and life revolves around Dear Hubby, Berry, my writing and doing chores. Mostly, I get my high from shopping. I have to admit, I've shopped more than I ever have since I found myself homebased more than ever.

Well, I got my wish today. I had an action star moment when my key fob wouldn't open the garage door. I was too lazy to enter through the front lobby since our hallway was nearer the garage elevator. I reached in through the gate and pressed the Open button from the outside. And well guess what, my watch got caught between the horizontal grills and I was carried up, up, up till my feet were dangling off the ground. No kidding. I was like a rag doll. And because the metal of my watch was very strong, it wouldn't budge and didn't break. No matter how hard I shook my wrist off, I was stuck in the grills.

When I realized I was getting too near the top, where the gate rolled up, I suddenly had the presence of mind to take a step up and get my wrist in an angle where I could let go. Then I jumped 6 feet down, and landed on my two feet, like a gymnast! Ha! There was no one around, but I'm pretty sure if someone looked out the window at the time, I flashed that person.

As soon as I got down, with only a sore wrist and a mild scrape on my leg, I felt a  huge sigh of relief. And a bit of thrill that I just did something so exciting, like I was in the movies!

When I got inside our apartment, I called my friends because what happened was so out of the ordinary!  Imagine jumping off a rising garage door! Although I was a bit shaken, I wasn't stirred. Sarj said, I could have lost my arm. That's when I realized how seriously bad things could have been. My friend Me-an asked me if I was screaming the whole time. I told her I wasn't. I was only concentrated on getting my wrist free. And how embarrassing it was that I was stuck on a gate! Bwahahaha!

Oh well! Lesson learned! Never open an automatic garage door from the outside! And, be careful what you wish for. Pfffft.

P.S. Thank you to my guardian angels!

Kids Start Young at LITTLE BG

Hey, in case you missed my story on LITTLE BG for the Radar last Sunday, you can read it online here!

A couple weeks back, Berry, my sister Nicole and I went bright and early to Bergdorf Goodman, way before they opened (had the store to ourselves)!, so I can take photos of their newly launched children's section called Little BG (Thanks to Gracci of thestylishtot.com for editing my photos!)! So pretty! Here's a virtual tour!

This is what greets you as you step out of the elevator. The striking cream and ebony hallway leading to Little BG.

Pretty vignettes of dresses and girlish accoutrements!

The swim section filled with robes, cover-ups and of course, swimsuits!  The prints are too adorbs! So fresh and bright!

In the middle of Little BG stands this "tree".

Now, let's hear it for the boys. Love the playroom set-up!

Little BG has a comprehensive layette offering, complete with a Moses basket!

Little BG stocks Papo d’Anjo and Florence Eiseman, Bonpoint and Antik Batik, Philip Lim and ChloĆ©. The department also features exclusive collections from Le Guignol, Le Nouveau Ne and Bergdorf Goodman Collection, in addition to favorites such as Tartine et Chocolat, Little Marc Jacobs, Junior Gaultier, Baby Cz by Carolina Zapf, Loro Piana, Baby Dior, Hickey Freeman, Charvet, Vilbrequin, Isabel Garreton, Joan Calabrese and Petit Bateau.

Notwithstanding the impressive and well-edited collection, Little BG is simply just a delightful place! According to Jim Gold, President and CEO of Bergdorf Goodman, “LITTLE BG will reflect the style, quality and creativity for which Bergdorf Goodman has become known. We hope it will become a destination for exceptional children’s products.”

From what I've seen, yes moms, LITTLE BG is the place to train your kids to appreciate quality and thoughtful design. When you have the chance, bring them here and enjoy every time spent with them while it lasts. Next thing you know, the girls would rather shop at the second floor where the shoes are, and the boys would rather go the men's department across the street. Kids grow up in a New York minute.

LITTLE BG is on the seventh floor of Bergdorf Goodman, located at the corner of 58th Street and 5th Avenue, New York, NY.

June Bug

So I was a bit of a busy bee some time back with two stories in Philippine magazines out this month of June! Just in case you haven't read these yet, please flip to the pages where I am at!

Metro Magazine Ageless Dressing Feature, text c/o yours truly:

My first time to do a Living Feature! And Dear Hubby's first published photos! We did a story on the serene and lovely Park Avenue abode of Jerry Sibal and Edwin Josue for Lifestyle Asia. Here's a sneak peek:

Let me tell you, the styling for Metro is fantastic. Plus, the home we featured in Lifestyle Asia is  adorably pretty and yet so practical. So laid back, yet so NYC. If you want to feel inspired, you must see the rest of the pages of these stories ;)

The June 2010 of Metro Magazine and Lifestyle Asia Magazine are already out on stands. If you still haven't, please grab a copy before the month ends!

The British Are Coming!

Well, technically, it's London coming! I love you na! I can practically feel my feet slipping into these handsome brogues! I love the shape! So classic and looks so cool! We're going to do a bit of a jiggy when we meet! Or maybe, I'll sing in the rain too?!

Thanks Karrots + Anthology Shoes!

And btw, the French have arrived! Thanks Em and Darlyn of Belle de Jour for the Campus BDJ you sent to my sister Nicole! Right on time for school! She loves it!

Girlfriends, thanks! I feel so lucky to get all these funtabulous and very useful gifts! Thanks! Thanks! Kiss! Kiss!

Top Bun

Two years ago, I would often bump into a Korean mother-daughter tag team while out shopping. Like, I'd see them at least once a week, almost everywhere. I knew it was them because they were the only mother-daughter duo I would see walking around town with their hair up in a bun, their maxi skirts sweeping the ground even while wearing platform sandals.

Who knew those two were style psychics or something (well, maxi skirts are back, took a long time coming!). Seeing a hair trend here on Amlul and Chic Muse:

Would you put up your hair in a high bun like this too?
